Location : Sudbury, MA
Things to love about this trail :
- Nice View
- Cool Trees
- Well marked trail
I discovered Tippling Rock just a few months ago, which is funny because it is just 10 minutes from my house, and most of the past year I have been making 2 or 3 hour drives every weekend to get to my planned hikes (which were all mostly in New Hampshire). That is one of the reasons I started this blog, hoping to spread the word about the awesome options we have for getting to the great outdoors without spending a better part of the day driving.
The Bay Circuit trail to Tippling Rock starts kind of through people’s backyards, but it quickly changes into what feels like an escape into the woods, with some really cool trees.
It also passes by a vernal pool, and the sounds of wood frogs croaking definitely adds to the beauty of the hike.
The trail also has some elevation gain, so it can be a good weekday workout, or great practice for beginner hikers (like myself).
When you get up on Tippling Rock, the view definitely gets 4.5 stars. On clear days, you can see Boston, along with a big beautiful sky.
I used AllTrails app on this trail, but it is very well marked.
- Hike length : 1.4 miles
- Elevation gain : 232 feet
